About Richmond
Richmond is a town in south-west London, 8.2 miles southwest of Charing Cross. It is on a meander of the River Thames, with a number of parks and open spaces, including Richmond Park, and other conservation protected areas. The area was founded following Henry VII building his Richmond Palace, which is how the 16th century town earned its name.

Richmond is a tranquil, riverside village, full of historic pups, swanky restaurants, independent shops and enormous parks. Richmond Park is one of London’s eight Royal Parks, with 2500 acres of parkland to explore, the park is full of nature with regular park runs on offer.
Richmond Riverside and Richmond Bridge are also the star attractions of the area, people meet there in their hundreds on warm sunny days, to enjoy picnics, bars, and picturesque views across the river. If you want to head out on the water you can hire a boat from the boathouse below the bridge, and you can row row row your way down the river.

Richmond station offers District line trains toward Kew Gardens and Upminster, London Overground trains toward Kew Gardens, Willesden Junction and Stratford, and Waterloo to Reading lines. Richmond is also served by a number of Transport for London bus routes.
