W6 is a postal district in West London, it is 1.18 square miles, and it incorporates the areas of Hammersmith and Ravenscourt Park. It is governed by the Hammersmith and Fulham local authority. W6 is a leafy, but lively, suburb of London, away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre. Our estate agents love W6 for its pretty stretch of riverside pubs, which are even more beautiful in summer, that offer a vantage point for the annual Varsity Boat Race.
W6 is served by two London Underground Stations, both called Hammersmith. One is served by the Hammersmith & City and Circle lines, the other is served by the Piccadilly and District lines. Ravenscourt Park and Goldhawk Road are also within W6, both running services on the District line. By car, the Great West Road runs through W6, running toward Chiswick westwards and towards the A4 eastwards, connecting to Earl’s Court.
Ravenscourt Park is a 20-acre green space that has, somehow, managed to stay off most of London’s radar. In summer there is an open-air cinema here, and a paddling pool for kids to splash about in. There is also a large climbing centre here, RavensWall.
For food, W6 is a riverside region that offers every cuisine you could ever crave. Grab Italian at Zia Lucia, eclectic vegetarian dishes at The Gate of fail-safe fish and chips at Kerbisher and Malt.
